In Focus: Autonomous Data Operations with USVs

Our Acoustic Data Harvesting solution turns uncrewed surface vessels into data mules for the seabed. A USV surveys past a lander, wakes it acoustically, and pulls the data on the move, so the lander stays deployed and the vessel never has to stop and hold station: drive by harvesting instead of a vessel parked overhead, real cost savings compared with a crewed survey, and data delivered to shore in near real time.

Together with HydroSurv, we demonstrated autonomous subsea data operations end to end, an uncrewed surface vessel harvesting data from the seabed with no crewed vessel in the loop.

Case Study: From Seabed to Shore at MESN

At the MESN-UBN buoy off Pulau Ubin, four months of seabed current data came home with no divers, no cables, and no vessel deployment, retrieved on demand over an acoustic and cellular link.
